Jeju Sanghoe & Juk specialises in Korean abalone porridge and comforting Jeju-style dishes located at myVillage Serangoon Garden. I enjoyed the food at their Tanjong Pagar outlet, and this branch offers an even wider variety of abalone porridges.
Abalone Innards Porridge $23
Arrives in a stone bowl, coloured deep green from the abalone innards. Thick, silky and packed with umami. Tender slices of abalone add texture and sweetness.
Seafood Black Bean Noodles $19 comes loaded with shrimp, scallops, baby octopus and squid. The sauce is savoury and well-balanced, coating the noodles evenly.
Both mains come with a selection of banchan including squid, kimchi and quail eggs.
Grilled Abalone with Butter (3pcs) $12.50
The abalones were tender with a pleasant chew.
Sikhye $3.50
Sikhye was refreshing. Served chilled with soft rice grains.
